Six Pack Abs
I’m going to be honest with you; getting six pack abs is not easy. You need to know this but you also need to know that is possible. We all know the exercises required for getting a great set of abs but did you know the importance of nutrition?
Watch an infomercial for an ab machine. “Do this and you will get six pack abs”. NO!
Read the fine print. You will need to follow and stick to a detailed diet. Exercise and correct nutrition go hand in hand if you want killer abs. This is one of the biggest mistakes people make; they think they can eat what they want cos their ab machine will give the great abs.
Ok so what does it take to get a sculpted sexy torso? You could spend hours doing crunches and run the risk of injuring your back. You can spend hours doing cardio, boring! You can go on a calorie restrictive diet, starve yourself and end up gaining weight. Or you can combine all three with a controlled routine and finally get something to show for it.
Don’t think you can take 1 thing easy and concentrate on the other 2. No way. You need to put the effort into all 3 equally. You need to find a program that not only combines all 3 but is also there to support you and help you maintain it.

How long will it take to get a great six pack? That depends on a few things:
How much belly fat you need to lose: If you only need to lose 10-15 pounds then you can do it in weeks. However if you need to lose more than that it will obviously take longer. Break it down into attainable stages. This month my aim is to get down to 20% body fat. Next month 16% and the month after that 14% and so on until you reach your goal.
The amount of effort you put in: “oh I will do a few crunches today” is not going to work. If your program tells you it’s time for targeted exercises then do it. It’s not like cramming for a test; you can’t leave it till the last minute.
How dedicated are you: Do you want it or not? Stick to your diet, stick to your program remain focussed. You started out with a purpose. Eat and train with that purpose in mind.
Don’t be too harsh: So many people dive head first into a diet, make some progress and then hit the wall. Why? Too intense, too restrictive. Take a little break, have a day off, eat some chocolate.
If you make a mistake don’t punish yourself, don’t feel guilty. That only leads to failure. Just get back on your feet, dust yourself off and get back on board.
One day a week I eat total crap, I like food. I learnt not to beat myself up for enjoying a pizza and a beer every now and then. I just don’t do it every day.
There is no doubt that getting a sculpted body is hard work which is why a good, comprehensive ab workout program that supports your efforts is going to help you tremendously.
